Constructed of zink alloy, the obverse with a border of oak leaves with a tie at the base and a Panzerkampfwagen IV superimposed in the centre on grassy ground, with its left tank track extending over the edge of the badge, topped by a Wehrmacht-style German national eagle clutching a mobile swastika, raised number “50” within border at the bottom, the reverse with a barrel hinge and vertical pinback meeting a round wire catch, with two rivets holding Panzer in place visible, marked “GB” for maker Gustav Brehmer, Markneukirchen, measuring 45.82 mm (w) x 62.38 mm (h), weighing 23.9 grams, in extremely fine condition.
