Mecklenburg-Schwerin, Grand Duchy. A Friedrich Franz-Alexandra Cross, c.1912

(Friedrich-Franz-Alexandra-Kreuz). Constructed of silver, on loop for suspension from its period correct replacement ribbon, consisting of a Ruppert Cross, the obverse with raised leftward-facing profiles of Friedrich Franz IV and Alexandra, the reverse with a raised central royal monogram and inscription of “FÜR WERKE DER NÄCHSTEN LIEBE 15. NOV. 1912” (“FOR WORKS OF BROTHERLY LOVE, 15 NOVEMBER 1912”), unmarked, measuring 43.97 mm (w) x 48.85 mm (h), weighing 29.0 grams, in better than very fine condition.
