Bavaria, Kingdom. A St.Anne's Order in Gold, Honour Cross, c.1820

Instituted 19 September 1783 by the widow of the late Elector Maximilian III. Munchen Version. A Gold wide armed white enamelled Maltese cross with blue borders, with yellow and white enamel decorative beading in each quadrant, obverse centre featuring a Gold figure of St.Anna, with hand painted script on each arm, reverse centre with Gold figure of Bishop, hallmarked on integral ring with owl denoting French Gold Import, measuring 28 mm (w) x 32 mm (h-inclusive of integral ring), on large original Lady's bow ribbon as worn, small contact marks to enamels, remains near very fine.
