Prussia, Kingdom. An Infantry Officer’s Pickelhaube Plate

(Pickelhaube Insigne). Constructed of gilded bronze, the obverse consisting of a Hohenzollern eagle clutching an orb and sceptre overlaid by the monogram of Frederick the Great and a banner bearing an inscription of “Mitt Gott für König und Vaterland” (“With God for King and Fatherland”), unmarked, measuring 134 mm (w) x 132 mm (h), missing its reverse attachment prongs, otherwise in better than very fine condition.
