Germany, Kriegsmarine. A Minesweeper War Badge, by Förster & Barth

(Kriegsabzeichen für Minensuch-, U-Boot-Jagd- und Sicherungsverbände). Constructed of gilded and patinated zink, the obverse consisting of an oval oak leaf wreath, joined together at the bottom by ribbon, topped by a Kriegsmarine eagle clutching a mobile swastika, the reverse with a crimped barrel hinge and tapering vertical pinback meeting a flattened catch, unmarked but with the physical characteristics of manufacture by Förster & Barth, Pforzheim, measuring 43.88 mm (w) x 54.00 grams, weighing 19.5 grams, with total loss of gilt finish evident, in very fine condition.
