Prussia, Kingdom. A Medal for the Anniversary of French Huguenot Refugee Schools in Prussia by D. Loos, ca. 1789

Constructed of silver, the obverse with a leftward-facing profile of Kaiser Friedrich Wilhelm II circumscribed by name and title, the reverse with a central depiction of Minerva pointing to a bust of Elector Friedrich III, circumscribed by an inscription of “GALLIS EXULIBUS LYCEUM APERTUM” (“FRENCH REFUGEES SCHOOL OPENING”), maker marked on the obverse “D. LOOS”, measuring 42.51 mm in diameter, weighing 27.6 grams, in extremely fine condition.
