Germany, Wehrmacht. A Black Grade Wound Badge, with Case

(Verwundetenabzeichen in Schwarz mit Etui). Constructed of blackened magnetic metal, the obverse consisting of an oval laurel leaf wreath, joined together at the bottom by ribbon, around a central raised Stahlhelm overlaid by a mobile swastika, on top of crossed swords on a pebbled field, the reverse with a vertical pinback meeting a flat wire catch, unmarked, measuring 36.58 mm (w) x 44.32 mm (h), weighing 6.6 grams, accompanied by its period original presentation case, constructed of two pieces of card stock with a faux black leather exterior liner, the interior of the lid bearing a black ink “LDO” insignia, measuring 40 mm (w) x 60 mm (l) x 14 mm (h), the badge demonstrating minor oxidation and loss of paint, in overall better than very fine condition.
