Germany, Wehrmacht. A Close Combat Clasp, Bronze Grade, by A.G.M.u.K

(Nahkampfspange in Bronze). Constructed of bronzed zink, the obverse consisting of a central square oak leaf wreath, topped by a Wehrmacht eagle clutching a mobile swastika, above a crossed bayonet and stick grenade, overlaying a magnetic metal backplate, flanked on each side by four sun rays and oak leaves with acorns, the reverse with an integral hinge and banjo-style pinback, designer marked “W.E. PEEKHAUS, BERLIN” and maker marked “A.G.M.U.K., GABLONZ”, measuring 97.80 mm (w) x 25.56 mm (h), weighing 33.2 grams, the catch is missing and minor oxidation is evident, in very fine condition.
