Instituted by King Wilhelm I on January 18, 1861. Type II (1867-1918). Civil Division. A silver four-armed star with smooth rays, the obverse medallion presenting a large crown with a blue enamel surround inscribed GOT MIT UNS (God be with us), reverse presents a single pin assembly, pin marked C.F ROTHE WIEN, measures 87.5mm (w) x 87.15mm (h), weighs 55.0 grams, light wear to blue enamel, in extremely fine condition.

 

Footnote: This Order was founded by King Wilhelm I on the day of his coronation and it was awarded in recognition of civil and military merit.
