(Waffen-SS Einheitsfeldmütze M43 für Männer der Panzertruppe). An extremely well-preserved Waffen-SS EM/NCO’s Dachau-style M43 service cap, constructed of black wool. It is fully surrounded by fold-down side panels, scalloped at the front, providing optional ear and neck protection to the wearer. When not in use, the panels are rolled up and secured in place at the front with two bakelite buttons emanating from the right flap and meeting an equal number of reinforced buttonholes on the left flap. Stitched onto the peak is an insignia consisting of a black wool trapezoid bearing a machine-embroidered, silver-grey, Totenkopf topped by a SS-style German national eagle clutching a wreathed mobile swastika. The insignia measures 65 mm (w) x 50 mm (h). Completing the exterior features is a protruding visor with a card stock core, lined on the obverse in black wool and presenting exposed on the reverse. The interior is fully encompassed by a multi-piece black cotton/rayon-blended liner. It is unmarked with the exception of a white ink size mark of “57” on the crown. It measures approximately 200 mm (w) x 260 mm (l) x 135 mm (h). Free of evident wear or damage, the cap is in an overall extremely fine condition.
