(Württembergisches Kriegs-Erinnerungszeichen mit Schwertern). Instituted 1920 by the Württemberg Association of Front Fighters 1914/1918. (1920-1934 issue). Constructed of gilded bronze with multi-coloured enamels, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, consisting of a Maltese Cross with crossed swords piercing the centrepiece, the obverse with white enameled arms, bearing a central crowned Württemberg coat of arms executed in multi-coloured enamels, the reverse bearing a central sword and Stahlhelm, circumscribed by an inscription of “WÜRTTEMBERGISCHES KRIEGS-ERINNERUNGS-ZEICHEN” (“WÜRTTEMBERG WAR COMMEMORATIVE DECORATION”), the arms bearing a raised inscription of “FÜRCHTLOS U. TREU 1914-1918” (“FEARLESS AND LOYAL 1914-1918”), unmarked, measuring 39.90 mm (w) x 39.35 mm (h), weighing 18.5 grams (inclusive of ribbon), in extremely fine condition.
