Reuss, Principality. A Silver Merit Medal with Swords

(Silberne Verdienstmedaille mit Schwertern). Instituted 1885 by Prince Heinrich XIV. (1909-1918 issue). Constructed of silver, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, the obverse bearing a raised and crowned monogram of Prince Heinrich XIV, the reverse bearing a wreathed inscription of “FÜR VERDIENST” (“FOR MERIT”), the suspension loop joined together by a sword clasp, unmarked, the medal measuring 32.85 mm in diameter, the sword clasp measuring 36.22 mm (w) x 16.52 mm (h), weighing 20.5 grams overall (inclusive of ribbon), in near extremely fine condition.
