Germany, Imperial. A Hanseatic Cross, Bremen Issue

(Hanseatenkreuz Bremen). Constructed of silvered copper with enamels, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, consisting of a Cross Pattée, the obverse with red enameled arms and a central red enameled disc bearing a silvered Bremen coat of arms, the reverse bearing a central raised inscription of “FÜR VERDIENST IM KRIEGE 1914”, unmarked, measuring 40.51 mm (w) x 44.55 mm (h), weighing 20.1 grams, with minor flecking of enamels evident, in extremely fine condition.
