Germany, RAD. An Enlisted Personnel Belt Buckle, by Richard Sieper & Söhne

(Reichsarbeitsdienst Gürtelschnalle). Constructed of aluminum, the obverse bearing a central raised Reichsarbeitsdienst (RAD) insignia in the form of a shovel head overlaid by a mobile swastika, set within a circular wheat stalk wreath on a pebbled background, the reverse with a loop and swivel attachment claws, the latter retaining a period original brown leather strap bearing a maker’s mark of “RICHARD SIEPER & SÖHNE, LÜDENSCHEID”, with the logo of the same maker set into the reverse of the buckle, measuring 64 mm (w) x 48 mm (h), in extremely fine condition.
