(Louw Wepener-medalje). Instituted in 1967. In bronze gilt, number impressed "15" on the edge, measuring 38 mm (w) x 49.2 mm (h) inclusive of its integral suspension, scattered gilt wear, original ribbon, near extremely fine.

Footnote: The Louw Wepener Medal was instituted in 1967 and was discontinued in 1975. It was awarded for bravery, normally non-operational and could be awarded posthumously, the recipient entitled to use the post-nominal letters "LWM". The medal was rendered obsolete by the Honoris Crux decoration in 1975.
