(Zugwachabteilung 508 Ringkragen). A rare Zugwach-Abteilung (Wehrmacht Train Guards) gorget, constructed of a silvered feinzink base, the obverse bearing central raised aluminum numbers numbers “508”, flanked on each side by Heer-style eagles clutching mobile swastikas of identical construction, above an aluminum banner bearing an inscription of “ZUGWACHABTEILUNG”, with all aluminum features bearing the sporadic remnants of an original luminous paint which retains glow-in-the-dark properties, the reverse featuring a fully-intact field grey wool liner, with two clips accommodating a removable magnetic metal multi-link neck chain and an additional slip for uniform lapel attachment, unmarked, measuring 165 mm (w) x 110 mm (h), the zink baseplate demonstrates significant loss of silver finish and oxidation is visible throughout the chain, a scare gorget in very fine condition.
