Constructed of silvered tombak, consisting of a Maltese Cross with crossed swords piercing the centrepiece, the obverse with pebbled arms and a central wreathed mobile swastika, the reverse with a raised barrel hinge and vertical pinback meeting a round wire catch, maker marked with LDO code “L/11” for Wilhelm Deumer, Lüdenscheid, measuring 48.20 mm (w) x 47.88 mm (h), weighing 20.6 grams, accompanied by its period original presentation case, constructed of a light wooden frame with a faux black leather exterior liner, the lid bearing a silvered depiction of award, the interior with a white rayon lid liner and intact hinge cover, with a slotted black velvet medal bed, closing with a functional metal spring catch with exterior stud release, the bottom similarly maker marked with LDO code “L/11”, measuring 68 mm (w) x 68 mm (l) x 24 mm (h), the cross demonstrating some loss of finish, in overall near extremely fine condition.
