Constructed of gilded and silvered zink, the obverse consisting of an oval oak leaf wreath, joined together at the bottom by ribbon, topped by a German national eagle clutching a mobile swastika, around a central coastal artillery gun with its barrel raised and extending beyond the edge of the wreath, the reverse with a barrel hinge and banjo-style pinback meeting a flat wire catch, maker marked “SCHWERIN, BERLIN”, measuring 41.92 mm (w) x 54.60 mm (h), weighing 25.2 grams, in near extremely fine condition.
