(Heer Waffenrock für Oberfeldwebel der Panzergrenadiertruppe). A well-preserved Heer Panzergrenadier Oberfeldwebel’s field tunic, constructed of an olive-drab (although designated field-grey) cotton/wool-blended cloth. It features a turned-down collar lined on the top with a layer of smooth dark green wool. Trimmed along the outer edge with a silver aluminum wire tresse, the collar is flanked on each side by tabs constructed of dark green wool bases, topped by dual silver-grey cotton insignia which is in turn bisected by a central dark grey band flanked by tresses of identical construction. Each tab measures 28 mm (w) x 70 mm (l). The shoulders are adorned with identical straps constructed of field-grey wool bases, trimmed with meadow-green piping, bordered by dark grey rayon tresses, and pinned with two silvered rank pips. Each measuring 50 mm (w) x 115 mm (l), the straps are secured in place with a reverse strap which fits through an integral loop at the tunic’s outer edge, and with a pebbled zink button on the inner edge. The beast flaps each feature two pleated pockets, all closing with scalloped horizontal flaps with reinforced buttonholes meeting pebbled zink buttons. Stitched onto the tunic just above the upper right pocket is an insignia consisting of field-grey rayon backer bearing a machine-embroidered silver aluminum wire Wehrmacht eagle clutching a wreathed mobile swastika. The eagle measures 105 mm (w) x 45 mm (h) overall. The tunic closes with six pebbled zink buttons on the right flap meeting an equal number of reinforced buttonholes on the left. The interior is plain with the exception of a suspension loop set into the neck and three bakelite buttons emanating from the collar for an optional stay. Unmarked, the tunic measures approximately 490 mm across the shoulders, with an arm length of 590 mm, and an overall body length of 695 mm. It demonstrates sporadic, minor material fatigue to the outer material, with some mothing also visible to the collar liner. It is in an overall near extremely fine condition.
