(Ordin "Steaua Romaniei"). Instituted in 1877. Type II (1932-1947). In silvered bronze with red, green and blue enamels, gilt monogram of King Carol I on the obverse centrepiece, measuring 39.5 mm (w) x 62.5 mm (h) inclusive of its crown and laterally-pierced ball suspension, intact enamels, original military ribbon with hook and eye, intact enamels, extremely fine. Footnote: The Order of the Star of Romania is Romania's highest civil Order and second highest State decoration after the defunct Order of Michael the Brave. It was originally awarded in six grades: Grand Cross with Collar, Grand Cross, Grand Officer, Commander, Officer and Knight.
