$475
(Einheitsfeldmütze M43 für Männer der Luftwaffe). A very well-preserved Luftwaffe Enlisted/NCO’s M43 field cap, constructed of dark blue-grey wool. The cap is fully surrounded by fold-down side panels, scalloped at the front, providing optional ear and neck protection to the wearer. When not in use, the panels are rolled up and secured in place at the front with a single pebbled and grey-painted zink button emanating from the right flap and meeting an analogous reinforced buttonhole on the left flap. The crown is flanked on each side by a single ventilation hole, reinforced with a grey-painted magnetic metal grommet. Affixed to the peak of the cap with factory original zig-zag stitching is an insignia consisting of a dark grey wool backer bearing a silver-grey Luftwaffe eagle clutching a mobile swastika, measuring 75 mm (w) x 40 mm (h) overall. Directly underneath the eagle the cap is also stitched with a machine-embroidered tri-colour cockade measuring 20 mm in diameter. Completing the exterior features is a protruding cardboard-reinforced visor, fully lined in identical wool. The interior features a brown leather sweatband stitched across the forehead, and is fully encompassed by a multi-piece grey-blue rayon liner. Stamped onto the crown in black ink is a Reichsbetriebsnummer (RBNr.) of “2/0125/8” for an unidentified manufacturer, as well as a size mark of “58”. It measures approximately 200 mm (w) x 245 mm (l) x 130 mm (h). Demonstrating only minor interior soiling consistent with light use, the cap is in an overall extremely fine condition
