Germany, Luftwaffe. A Fallschirmjäger Badge, by G.H. Osang

(Fallschirmschützenabzeichen). Constructed of gilded and silvered zink, the obverse consisting of an oval oak leaf wreath, joined together at the bottom by ribbon, overlaid by a diving Luftwaffe eagle clutching a mobile swastika, the reverse with two visible rivets securing the obverse eagle in place, with an integral hinge and vertical pinback meeting an integral catch, maker marked “G.H. OSANG, DRESDEN”, measuring 42.08 mm (w) x 53.27 mm (h), weighing 28.9 grams, with loss of finish evident throughout and a chip visible to the left side of the hinge which has partially exposed the pin, a type “D” badge in overall very fine condition.
