Germany, SS. A Waffen-SS Panzer EM/NCO’s Dachau-Style M43 Field Cap

(Waffen-SS Einheitsfeldmütze M43 für Männer der Panzertruppe). An extremely well-preserved Waffen-SS EM/NCO’s Dachau-style M43 field cap, constructed of black wool. The cap is fully surrounded by fold-down side panels, scalloped at the front, providing optional ear and neck protection to the wearer. When not in use, the panels are rolled up and secured in place at the front with two black bakelite buttons emanating from the right flap and meeting an equal number of reinforced buttonholes on the left flap. The cap lacks exterior insignia, and demonstrates no evidence of any removal, indicating that the cap is likely an unissued example. Completing the exterior features is a protruding card stock-reinforced visor, with the reverse presenting exposed in classic Dachau style. The interior is fully encompassed by a multi-piece black cotton/rayon-blended liner. A white ink size mark of “56” is visible on the crown, but the cap is otherwise unmarked. It measures approximately 210 mm (w) x 245 mm (l) x 130 mm (h). With no evident wear or damage, it is in an overall extremely fine condition.
