(Medaillen). A mixed lot of three service medals, including:
1. A Bavarian Military Merit Cross, III Class, constructed of copper, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, consisting of a Maltese Cross with pebbled arms, the obverse bearing a central raised monogram of King Ludwig II, within a stylized belt and buckle bearing an inscription of “MERENTI” (“MERIT”) with oak leaves, the reverse bearing a central raised Bavarian lion rampant, within a stylized belt and buckle bearing an institution date of “1866” with arabesques, measuring 42.68 mm (w) x 50.32 mm (h), weighing 17.0 grams, in near extremely fine condition.
2. An Oldenburg Friedrich Albert Cross, II Class, constructed of blackened zink, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, consisting of a Cross Pattée with its arms joined through the quadrants by a circular laurel leaf wreath, the obverse bearing a central monogram of Grand Duke Friedrich August, the six o’clock arm bearing an institution date of “1914”, the twelve o’clock arm bearing a royal crown, unmarked, measuring 40.02 mm (w) x 44.58 mm (h), weighing 24.3 grams, with moderate loss of finish evident, a late-period example in very fine condition.
3. A Mecklenburg-Strelitz War Service Cross, II Class, constructed of silvered bronze, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, consisting of a Cross Pattée with ribbed arms, the obverse bearing a central wreathed monogram of Grand Duke Adolph Friedrich VI, the six o’clock arm bearing an institution date of “1914”, the reverse bearing a central wreathed inscription of “TAPFER UND TREUE”, unmarked, measuring 40.14 mm (w) x 44.36 mm (h), weighing 19.4 grams, with moderate loss of finish evident, in very fine condition.
