Austria, Empire. An Order of Elisabeth, Medal Grade, c.1910

(Elisabeth-Orden). Instituted in 1898. In silver, measuring 33 mm (w) x 38.5 mm (h) inclusive of its laterally-pierced ball suspension, very light contact, on its original bow-tied ribbon with safety pin attachment, near extremely fine.

Footnote: The Order of Elisabeth was instituted on September 17, 1898 by Franz Joseph I and discontinued in 1919. It was awarded to ladies for merit, in for grades: Grand Cross, I Class Cross, II Class Cross, and the Elisabeth Medal.
