Spain, Facsist State. A War Cross, Breast Star, c.1940

(Cruz de Guerra). Instituted in 1938. Type I, Insignia in silver gilt with red, white and blue enamels, mounted to an eight-pointed silver star base, each star point with five pairs of faceted rays, with a single pair of faceted rays between each star point, unmarked, the type I breast star issued between 1938 and 1942, measuring 61.3 mm (w) x 60.5 mm (h), vertical pinback, fine chipping evident in the blue enamels on the centrepiece ring, otherwise the enamels are intact, light contact overall, near extremely fine.
