Constructed of silvered brass, the obverse consisting of an oval laurel and oak leaf wreath, joined together at the bottom with a bow tie ribbon, topped by a German State Crown, around a central depiction of a monoplane flying over a rural landscape, the reverse with a low-set barrel hinge and wide pinback, the latter stamped with the classic square punch mark for an unidentified but widely-documented manufacturer, measuring 45.32 mm (w) x 71.63 mm (h), weighing 14.8 grams, missing its catch, a well-detailed example in very fine condition, accompanied by a large photo of the recipient, standing beside a biplane in full uniform and with a Prussian Pilot’s Badge clearly visible, unmarked, measuring 118 mm (w) x 169 mm (h), the reverse bearing some remnants of an adhesive and card stock from previous album display, in near extremely fine condition.
