Constructed of silvered and patinated zink, the obverse consisting of a circular chain link wreath, around a central blockade runner cutting through waves, with its bow overlaid by a German national eagle in mid-flight clutching a swastika, the reverse with a crimped ball hinge and vertical pinback meeting a flat wire catch, designer marked “OTTO PLACZEK, BERLIN” and maker marked with the logo of Arbeitsgemeinschaft Metall u. Kunststoff, Gablonz, measuring 49.00 mm in diameter, weighing 27.2 grams, in extremely fine condition.
