Germany, Third Reich. A Mixed Lot of Badges

(Abzeichen). A mixed lot of three badges, including:

1. A Black Grade Wound Badge, constructed of blackened bronze, the obverse consisting of an oval laurel leaf wreath, joined together at the bottom by ribbon, around a central raised Stahlhelm overlaid by a mobile swastika, on top of crossed swords on a pebbled field, the reverse with a raised barrel hinge and vertical pinback meeting a round wire catch, unmarked, measuring 36.48 mm (w) x 43.80 mm (h), weighing 12.7 grams, with loss of paint visible throughout the high-contact points, in very fine condition.

2. A German Air Sports Association (DLV) cap badge, constructed of silvered bronze with enamels, the reverse maker marked “K. WURSTER, M. NEUKIRCHEN”, measuring 50 mm (w) x 26 mm (h), missing its attachment prongs and with chipping and tarnishing visible to the enamel and base metal, respectively, in fair condition.

3. A Winterhilfswerk (WHW) 1933/1934 Gau Westfalen-Nord (North Westphalia) donation gratitude badge, constructed of silvered bronze, vertical pinback, the reverse maker marked “PAULMANN & CRONE, LÜDENSCHEID”, measuring 37 mm in diameter, in very fine condition.
