(A Magyar vitézségi érem). Instituted in 1939. In bronze, lacquered, engraver marked "BERAN. L." on the obverse, measuring 35 in diameter, contact marks, edge nicks, original triangular ribbon with hook and eye, better than very fine.

 

Footnote: This Bravery Medal was founded by Miklos Horthy, and it was awarded to Officers, Non-Commissioned Officers, and enlisted soldiers for exceptional bravery in war. It is also known as the Hungarian Medal of Courage. The Medal was originally awarded in a single silver grade. In 1939, the Silver Medal was divided into the Large Silver Medal and the regular Silver Medal, and the grades of Gold Medal and Bronze Medal were added.
