Germany, Wehrmacht. A Spanish Cross, Silver Grade with Swords, by C.E. Juncker

(Spanienkreuz in Silber mit Schwertern). Constructed of silvered bronze, consisting of a Spanish Cross, the obverse with pebbled arms, with a central raised mobile swastika inside of dual rings, the centrepiece pierced by dual swords, with eagle sword overlaid by a Luftwaffe-style German national eagle clutching a mobile swastika and the tips of the wings joining each arm of the cross, the reverse with a block hinge and vertical pinback meeting a flat wire catch, maker marked with LDO code “L/12” for C.E. Juncker, Berlin, measuring 56.96 mm (w) x 56.52 mm (h), weighing 30.6 grams, accompanied by a partial presentation case, consisting of a card stock lid with a blue satin interior liner, unmarked, measuring 78 mm (w) x 82 mm (l), with oxidation and loss of finish evident to the cross, as well as significant material fatigue to the remnants of the presentation case, in overall better than very fine condition.
