(Auszeichnungen). A pair of Oldenburg decorations, including:

1. A Red Cross Medal, constructed of gilded silver, on loop for suspension from a period original replacement ribbon, consisting of an oval ring topped on the obverse bearing a white enameled medallion bearing a red Geneva Cross, surrounding the stylized monogram of Grand Duke Friedrich August over a hollow background, the reverse of the ring bearing a stamped silver content number of “950” at the six o’clock position, measuring 26.85 mm (w) x 40.76 mm (h), weighing 7.0 grams, with minor flecking visible to the enamel of the medallion, a scarce decoration in extremely fine condition.

2. A House and Merit Order of Peter Friedrich Ludwig, II Class Knight’s Cross with Crown, constructed of silver with multi-coloured enamels, consisting of a Cross Pattée, the obverse bearing a central blue enameled medallion overlaid by a gilt monogram of Grand Duke Peter Friedrich Ludwig, set within a circular red enameled ring bearing a gilt inscription of “EIN GOTT, EIN RECHT, EINE WAHRHEIT” (“ONE GOD, ONE RIGHTEOUSNESS, ONE TRUTH”), in turn surrounded by dual rings, the reverse bearing a central white enameled medallion bearing a hand-pointed Oldenburg coat of arms, topped by a crown and superimposed over a royal cloak, the twelve o’clock arm with topped by an integral ring and swivel hinge connecting to a crown suspension, in turn topped by a loop and retaining a period original ribbon, unmarked, the cross measuring 40.07 mm (w) x 42.51 mm (h), the crown measuring 20.62 mm (w) x 19.17 mm (h), weighing 17.8 grams overall, the arms have lost most of their enamel and there is damage to the remaining enamels and silver base consistent with heat exposure, in poor condition.
