Germany, Heer. An Officer’s Dress Dagger, by F.W. Höller

Item #M0508-2

$540
(Heer Offiziersdolch). A Heer Officer’s dress dagger, measuring 37.5 cm in total length. It features a 26 cm-long nickel-plated magnetic steel blade with a sharpened tip and edges. The blade is plain with the exception of a maker’s mark of “F.W. HÖLLER, SOLINGEN”, circumscribing the firm’s thermometer logo. It sits securely within a silver-plated alloy upper crossguard, the obverse of which bears a raised Wehrmacht eagle clutching a wreathed mobile swastika, with the seam covered by an intact black leather buffer pad. The handle grip is composed of a single piece of ribbed brown celluloid, and the dagger completes with a rounded pommel featuring oak leaf designs around the outer circumference, screwing in to maintain the dagger’s structural integrity. The dagger is missing its scabbard, and demonstrates minor tarnishing to the blade and silver plated features, but remains in a very fine condition.
