Kompanie, Infanterie-Regiment 262 (span.), 250. Infanterie-Division, consisting of: 1. A Blue Division-attributed Personalausweis (Identification Pass) for 250. Infanterie-Division , constructed of a field-grey card stock binding with interior pages featuring handwritten entries, named to Vegas as a Soldado (enlisted soldier) of 14. Kompanie, Infanterie-Regiment 262 (span.), indicating that he was born on 1 August 1923 in Valladolid, Spain, with his next-of-kin specified as Edmundo Carretero Llanas (presumably his father, in accordance with Spanish naming customs), issued on 7 January 1942, measuring 100 mm (w) x 140 mm (h), with minor material fatigue evident, in near extremely fine condition. 2. A Spanish-made War Merit Cross II Class with Swords, constructed of bronze, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon affixed to a classic bronze clasp with horizontal pinback, consisting of a Maltese Cross with crossed swords piercing the centrepiece, the obverse bearing a central wreathed mobile swastika, the reverse bearing a central wreathed date of “1939”, unmarked, measuring 46.78 mm (w) x 48.14 mm (h), weighing 20.1 grams (inclusive of ribbon and clasp), a quintessential and high-quality example of a replacement piece purchased by Blue Division veterans in Spain c. 1950s-1970s, in extremely fine condition. 3. An award document for the War Merit Cross II Class, constructed of off-white paper with black ink, named to Vegas as a Soldado of Infanterie-Regiment 262 (span.), issued at headquarters on 20 January 1942, featuring the handwritten signature of General der Infanterie Friedrich Wilhelm von Chappuis (Knight’s Cross of the Iron Cross, 15 August 1940) in his capacity as commander of XXXVIII Army Corps, measuring 145 mm (w) x 208 mm (h), with folding creases visible, in near extremely fine condition. 4. An award document for a Spanish Military Merit Cross, named to Vegas as a Soldado de Infanteria (enlisted infantry soldier), issued on 1 December 1942, featuring a facsimile signature of General Agustín Muñoz Grandes, Blue Division commander, measuring 145 mm (w) x 208 mm (h), with a central folding crease, in near extremely fine condition. 5. A Spanish-issued award notice for the Eastern Front Medal, constructed of off-white paper with multi-coloured ink, named to Vegas as a Soldado and dated 4 February 1943, measuring 145 mm (w) x 208 mm (h), with a central folding crease, in extremely fine condition. 6. An award document for a Falange Ángulo Plata (Silver Chevron), constructed of off-white card stock with multu-coloured ink, named Vegas and issued in Madrid on 9 March 1945, measuring 210 mm (w) x 154 mm (h), in extremely fine condition. 7. An honorary citizenship certificate issued to Vegas from the village of Santa Eugènia in the Balearic Islands, constructed of paper stock with multi-coloured ink, recognizing his service with the Blue Division in the fight against communism on the Eastern Front, dated 11 February 1962, measuring 306 mm (w) x 218 mm (h), with a central folding crease visible, in extremely fine condition.
