(Орден Святой Анны, III степень крест). Instituted 14 February 1735 by Duke Karl Friedrich of Holstein-Gottorp. (1829-1917 issue). Constructed of Gold with multi-coloured enamels, consisting of a Cross Pattée with red enameled arms joined through the quadrants by ornate arabesque designs, the obverse bearing a central enameled medallion overlaid by a hand-painted depiction of Saint Anne, set within a Gold ring, the reverse bearing a central white enameled medallion bearing hand-painted initials “A.I.P.F.” for “ANNA IMPERATORIS PETRI FILIA” (“ANNA, EMPEROR PETER’S DAUGHTER”), the twelve o’clock arm with an integral loop connecting to a suspension ring, in turn retaining a period original ribbon, the obverse twelve o’clock arm bearing a Romanov imperial eagle and the six o’clock arm bearing a Russian Cyrillic hallmark of “АК” for Albert Keibel, the suspension loop bearing a 56 zolotnik mark indicating 14k Gold construction, measuring 34.46 mm (w) x 39.57 mm (h), weighing 10.2 grams (inclusive of ribbon), accompanied by its period original presentation case, constructed of a wooden frame with a faux red leather exterior liner, the lid bearing a gilded and embossed award title, the interior with a white rayon lid liner inset with a gilded frame, with a depressed white velvet medal bed, closing with a metal swivel catch, unmarked, measuring 58 mm (w) x 82 mm (l) x 25 mm (h), with some flecking visible to the enamels of the cross and with an internal distortion or possible repair visible to the reverse twelve o’clock arm, in addition to moderate material fatigue throughout the exterior and interior of the case, in overall very fine condition.
