(Luftschutz-Ehrenzeichen II. Klasse). Instituted 30 January 1938. (1938-1945). Constructed of aluminum, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon with horizontal pinback, consisting of an oval oak leaf wreath, the obverse bearing a central raised mobile swastika, circumscribed by an inscription of “FÜR VERDIENSTE IM LUFTSCHUTZ” (“FOR MERIT IN AIR DEFENCE”), the reverse bearing a central raised date of “1938”, unmarked, measuring 40.11 mm (w) x 44.52 mm (h), weighing 15.5 grams (inclusive of ribbon), in extremely fine condition.
