Germany, Wehrmacht. A General Assault Badge

(Allgemeines Sturmabzeichen). Constructed of silvered zink, the obverse consisting of an oval oak leaf wreath, around a central Heer-style German national eagle clutching a mobile swastika, above a crossed bayonet and stick grenade, the reverse with a crimped barrel hinge and vertical pinback meeting a round wire catch, unmarked, measuring 42.72 mm (w) x 53.24 mm (h), weighing 24.2 grams, with minor loss of finish evident, in better than very fine condition.
