(Königlicher Kronen-Orden Kreuz III. Klasse in Gold). Instituted 18 October 1861 by King Wilhelm I. (1869-1918 issue). Constructed of Gold with multi-coloured enamels, consisting of a Cross Pattée with white enameled arms trimmed in with gilt borders, the obverse bearing a central Gold medallion overlaid by a raised crown, set within a ring of blue enamel bearing a gilt inscription of “GOTT MIT UNS” (“GOD WITH US”) and arabesques, the reverse bearing a central Gold medallion overlaid by a raised monogram of King Wilhelm I, within a ring of blue enamel bearing a gilt institution date of “DEN 18 OCTOBER 1861”, the twelve o’clock arm topped by an integral loop and suspension ring retaining a period original ribbon, unmarked, measuring 41.86 mm (w) x 45.60 mm (h), weighing 12.0 grams, with minor flecking of enamels evident, in extremely fine condition.
