Italy, Kingdom. A Russian Front Honour Badge, by Lorioli

Constructed of silvered zink, consisting of a circular thorn and oak leaf wreath symbolizing suffering and bravery, respectively, joined together at the bottom by a banner bearing an inscription of “FRONTE RUSSO” (“RUSSIAN FRONT”), overlaid by crossed and downward-pointing cossack sabres, the reverse with a diagonal pinback, retaining a partially-legible maker’s mark of “LORIOLI, MILANO”, measuring 43.35 mm (w) x 43.36 mm (h), weighing 16.3 grams, accompanied by its period original package of issue, constructed of wax paper, the exterior bearing a Lorilo logo, measuring 54 mm (w) x 80 mm (h), in overall extremely fine condition.
