(Khureang Ratcha-itsariyaphon Chunla Chom Klao). Instituted in 1873 by King Rama V. A silver gilt Grand Cross featuring a pink enamelled eight point star with smooth rays in each quadrant and a green enamelled wreath connecting each point, the obverse medallion features a handpainted portrait of King Chula Chom Klao, surrounded in a blue enamelled ring inscribed "I Will Maintain My Royal Family" in Thai, the reverse medallion features a three headed elephant (the insignia of Siam) on a black enamelled field, surrounded by a blue enamelled ring with Thai inscription, surmounted by a large Thai crown with enamelled details, measures 50.1mm (w) x 85.1mm (h - inclusive of crown suspension and integral ring), weighs 52.1 grams (including ribbons), worn on a full length neck ribbon, a very beautiful and rare decoration in mint condition.
