Constructed of multiple pieces in Silver and Gold, with 63 old rose cut diamonds totalling approximately three carats, weighing 31.3 grams, marked on the reverse, the face of the support plate etched with multiple rows in a zig zag pattern, illustrating the framed cypher of Ahmad in the centre with the Tunisian star and quarter moon above, 39.2 mm x 66.7 mm, loop suspension incorporating the sixty-third diamond, ten rivets holding the support plate in place, missing its horizontal pinback, very fine condition.
Footnote: Ahmad I ibn Mustafa (1806 - May 30, 1855) was the tenth leader of the Husainid Dynasty and ruled Tunisia as Bey of Tunis, from October 10, 1837 to his death on May 30, 1855. The Order of Glory (Nishan al-Iftikhar) Ahmad Bey (1837-1855) was awarded in a single class until 1843, then awarded in five classes thereafter.
