Germany, Wehrmacht. A Gold Grade Wound Badge, by Klein & Quenzer

(Verwundetenabzeichen in Gold). Constructed of gilded zink, the obverse consisting of an oval laurel leaf wreath, joined together at the bottom by ribbon, around a central raised Stahlhelm overlaid by a mobile swastika, on top of crossed swords on a pebbled field, the reverse with an integral hinge and vertical pinback meeting an integral catch, maker marked with Präsidialkanzlei code “65” for Klein & Quenzer, Idar-Oberstein, measuring 36.74 mm (w) x 44.06 mm (h), weighing 19.9 grams, with only minor loss of finish evident, in near extremely fine condition.
