A Large promotion certificate. “In the name of the German people”, the captain of the Luftwaffe Ernst Kühne is being promoted to major. The date is May 31st, 1939, the promotion takes effect starting on June 1st. The document is enacted by “Der Führer” and carries a facsimile of Hitler’s autograph. With an original strong signature of Hermann Göring. In the lower left corner there is a stamp showing a wreath of oak leaves, an imperial eagle inside of it standing on another wreath of oak leaves with a swastika inside. The document is housed inside a cardboard cover with a similar yet slightly different eagle symbol printed on it in gold. It faces the other way and the wings aren’t spread as much. Measures 25.7 x 36.3, extremely fine.
A Christmas Gift: A photograph of Ernst Kühne in uniform, underneath a see-through sheet. It identifies the item as a Christmas present to “our revered commander Colonel Kühne”, given as a memento for their shared time in the 1st Battalion of the Jäger-Regiment 31 (L). It is signed by several privates and privates first class. Measures 20.6 x 29 cm, extremely fine.

The postcard is signed by Ernst Kühne and addressed to Margarete Kühne, possibly his wife. It contains general greetings and the information that he saw a movie starring actress Ida Wüst.
