Germany, NSDAP. A Long Service Decoration, III Class for 10 Years with Case, by Gebrüder Jäger

(Dienstauszeichnung der NSDAP, III. Klasse für 10 Jahre mit Etui). Instituted 2 April 1939. (1939- 1945 issue). Constructed of bronze, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, consisting of a Cross Pattée with arms joined together through the quadrants by stylized sun rays, the obverse bearing a wreathed German national eagle clutching a wreathed mobile swastika, the reverse bearing a central wreathed inscription of “TREUE DIENSTE FÜR FÜHRER UND VOLK” (“FAITHFUL SERVICE FOR FÜHRER AND PEOPLE”), unmarked, measuring 42.80 mm (W) x 46.60 mm (h), weighing 13.6 grams, in extremely fine condition, accompanied by its period original presentation case, constructed of two pieces of card stock with a faux brown leather exterior liner, the lid bearing a gilt German national eagle clutching a wreathed mobile swastika, the interior with a beige felt liner, the base marked with a Reichszeugmeisterei (RZM) logo and maker code “M1/143” for Gebrüder Jäger, Gablonz, measuring 52 mm (w) x 95 mm (l) x 18 mm (h), in extremely fine condition.
