Germany, NSDAP. A Golden Party Badge, Large Version, by Deschler & Sohn

(Goldenes Ehrenzeichen der NSDAP). Constructed of gilded tombak with multi-coloured enamels, the obverse consisting of a circular laurel leaf wreath, with a central white enameled disc bearing a black mobile swastika, within a ring of red enamels bearing a silvered inscription of “NATIONAL-SOZIALISTISCHES D.A.P.” (“NATIONAL SOCIALIST GERMAN WORKERS’ PARTY”), the reverse with a barrel hinge and tapering vertical pinback meeting a flat wire catch, engraved with an NSDAP membership number of “49014” for an unidentified recipient, unmarked but with the physical characteristics of manufacture by Deschler & Sohn, Munich, measuring 30.45 mm in diameter, weighing 12.8 grams, with minor flecking of the enamels evident, in extremely fine condition.
