Germany, NSDAP. A Long Service Decoration, II Class for 15 Years

(Dienstauszeichnung der NSDAP II. Klasse für 15 Jahre). Instituted 2 April 1939. (1939-1945 issue). Constructed of silvered bronze with enamels, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, consisting of a Cross Pattée with a ribbed frame and blue enameled arms joined together through the quadrants by radiant sun rays, the obverse with a central blue enameled disc overlaid by a NSDAP-style German national eagle clutching a wreathed mobile swastika, in turn overlaying a circular oak leaf wreath, the reverse with a central blue enameled medallion bearing a silver inscription of “TREUE FÜR FÜHRER UND VOLK” (“LOYALTY FOR FÜHRER AND PEOPLE”), unmarked, measuring 42.28 mm (w) x 46.33 mm (h), weighing 27.8 grams, with minor loss of finish evident, in near extremely fine condition.
