Austria, Imperial. A Return of Provinces Lombardy-Venetia by Treaty Congress of Vienna Medal, c.1815

In silver, the obverse presents the left facing bust of Francis I of Austria (1804-1835) surrounded by the inscription FRANCISCO I AVSTRIACO PIO AVG FELICI, the reverse bears the Tyche of Milan standing before Francis I of Austria riding a horse, the exergue ORDO ET POPVLVS MEDIOL./ DIE XXXI DECEMBRIS / MDCCCXV, measures 42.4mm (w) x 48mm (h – inclusive of integral ball), weighs 36.7 grams (including ribbon), integral ball has been privately added and is loose/removable, worn on replacement ribbon, lovely patina, in near extremely fine condition.

Footnote: Austria received her lost provinces of Lombardy-Venetia by the treaty signed at the Congress of Vienna, Milan came under the umbrella of the province of Lombardy.
