Constructed of bronze, on loop for suspension from its original German-manufactured ribbon, the obverse bearing a raised depiction of two gladiators (symbolizing Germany and Italy) grappling with a crocodile (symbolizing Great Britain), the reverse bearing a central raised depiction of the Arco dei Fileni flanked by a fasces and swastika, circumscribed by an inscription of “ITALIAN-GERMAN CAMPAIGN IN AFRICA” in both Italian and German, the obverse maker marked “LORIOLI, MILANO”, measuring 30.80 mm in diameter, weighing 12.2 grams, accompanied by its period original package of issue, constructed of wax paper, the exterior bearing a Lorioli insignia, measuring 54 mm (w) x 80 mm (h), in near mint condition.
