Germany, Third Reich. A 1939 Tyrolean Marksmanship Gau Achievement Badge, Type II, Bronze Grade

(Standschützenverband Tirol-Vorarlberg Gauleistungsabzeichen in Bronze). Constructed of bronze with enamels, the obverse bearing a central red enameled Tyrolean eagle clutching a white enameled bullseye target overlaid by a mobile swastika, circumscribed by an inscription of “TIROLER LANDESSCHIESSEN 1939” (“TYROLEAN STATE SHOOTING 1939”), the reverse with a clip hinge and horizontal pinback meeting a rounded catch, unmarked, measuring 52.14 mm in diameter, weighing 36.3 grams, in near mint condition.
