Constructed of iron and silver, consisting of a Cross Pattée with a blackened magnetic iron core within a ribbed silver frame, the obverse with a central initial “W”, the six o’clock arm with a reinstitution date of “1914”, the twelve o’clock arm with a royal crown, the reverse with a barrel hinge and vertical pinback meeting a round wire catch, unmarked, measuring 42.95 mm (w) x 42.70 mm (h), weighing 15.0 grams, with minor oxidation and a consistent patina visible to the core and frame, respectively, in very fine condition, accompanied by its award document, constructed of white paper stock with black ink, named to “GERHARD BOGISCH” who served with Infanterie-Regiment 395, awarded on 1 March 1921 and received in Berlin on 6 March 1924 (indicating a late catch-up award), measuring 20.5 cm (w) x 16.5 cm (h), in near extremely fine condition.
